Qualifying electric vehicles and plug-in electric hybrids are eligible for a rebate of the 1% local share of the state sales tax. In order to qualify, the vehicles must have been previously determined to be eligible for the $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit program and must be a new vehicle only. The vehicle must be registered to a resident or business located in McLean County and is only for vehicles sold in Normal. Proof of payment of the tax must be provided. In order to obtain your rebate, complete a form and submit it to the Town of Normal Finance Department with all required documentation. The Town of Normal will waive the electric permit fee for charging stations installed in Normal.
